DIY Pretzel Lightsabers

Every year on "May the 4th Be With You" day, my children and I have a celebration. Each time we change up how we party, but we always find a way to make it fit our theme. A couple of years back we made Kyber Crystal Sparkling Candy Pretzel Lightsabers for our dessert, alongside Yoda Soda Floatas, which my kids think is the standard Star Wars Drink.

All you need to do is buy some pretzel rods, as you see I bought the "rods" not the small "sticks." However, pretzel sticks would work as well for mini lightsabers. Next I bought the colored candy melts by Wilton (can find these at your local party and craft stores, if not at your grocer/dept store). And of course, don't forget the colored sugar sprinkles for decorating cakes. The colored sugar sprinkles are mini kyber crystals, don't you know? ;)

Warm the candy melts as directed on the package and dip your rods, then roll in sprinkles. I also bought the Pretzel Rod bags by Wilton and tied them up.

I usually buy a cheap "star wars" colored tablecloth from the dollar store, as well as some type of party poppers. Also, if you check out your "after Easter" sales at your local stores, you can often find Star Wars themed items, such as plastic eggs filled with Star Wars Tattoos, Star Wars candy, etc at half-price.

Next to Christmas and Easter, what is more exciting than waking up on May the 4th and finding what Yoda left behind???

May the Force Be With You!!!
