Star Wars - Philosophy

Star Wars Philosophy
"Don't call me a mindless philosopher, you overweight glob of grease."

Some might call it a religion and in the UK it is even practiced as such. However, I am not talking religion, I am speaking of philosophy.

Here is the original Jedi Code, before it was altered a couple of times:
Emotion, yet peace.
Ignorance, yet knowledge.
Passion, yet serenity.
Chaos, yet harmony.
Death, yet the Force.
It is possible to feel emotion and passion, yet learn to control them both so that they result in peace and serenity. At some point, we are all ignorant, yet we have the ability to gain knowledge. In this world of chaos, we can make our home the safety net of harmony. And eventually, we all die...but what do we believe about God and the afterlife?

All of these things are philosophy. They cause us to ask questions. And only when we ask questions will we begin to seek out answers. The problem arises when we cannot handle truth over tradition and so we cut short our journey for veracity.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of Philosophy, is one man's questions may not stir you to think or debate, but that does not mean you are not philosophical. It simply means those are not the questions stirring deep in your soul.

Philosophy is a personal adventure. When we share our questions and new insights, some may be able to relate enough to enjoy the discussion, while others will be repelled by it, either because it is not their question or they are a person who fears truth over tradition. In either case, for the sake of peace, we cannot force others to accept our revelations.

What is your take on philosophy?
